MET-VET – Metacognition for
Environmental Thinking in VET
Project number:
2021-2-PL01-KA220-VET-000050783
The Library also provides a series of tools and a specific guidance through a Creation guide, that
supports the VET learners to develop a reflective digital story based on the changes and
developments within their environmental approach, action and awareness.
In accessing the tool, users are able to view other users' reflective digital stories, which are all be
tagged and categorised based on the framework competences achieved and/or aiming towards, the
specific VET sector the user is in, their local, regional and national context and the European
environment and sustainability targets the skills contribute towards.
The Digital Library has also 'forum' type function, through which users are able to compare
experiences with others and strengthen the transnational dimension through the use of peer-
exchange.
The Reflective Digital Story Library is a useful tool:
- for VET students, supporting them in: tracking, mapping and monitoring and validate their
own progress in the acquisition of the core skills and competences relating to metacognitive
and environmental thinking, encouraging autonomy and positive action. The tool also
contributes to enhance learners’ ICT and digital skills.
- For VET trainers, supporting them in: fostering in learners the capacity to validate their self-
directed learning; stimulating green and metacognitive competences, storytelling skills,
reflection capacities, environmental-related skills when operating in the VET sector
From what has been said, it is clear that that that the products and tools developed through the MET-
VET project meet the needs of the target groups (VET learners, VET practitioners, VET centres) in the
green and digital transition, supporting an environmentally focused digital strategy. The Competence
Framework provides a reference point for all VET stakeholders to be able to integrate environmental
thinking into existing VET systems - directly addressing the needs of the VET sectors' stakeholders. The
MOOCs constitute a training for both learners and practitioners to effectively understand
environmental reflective thinking from their own individual perspective. The Reflective Digital Story
Library supports learners to create their own environmental metacognitive digital story as a means of
reflecting on their personal and professional development, related to approaching VET from an
environmentally aware perspective. Finally, the present Toolkit (Project Result 4) supports VET centres
and managers to successfully and smoothly integrate the MET-VET tools and approaches in an inclusive
manner.
